Wall House II by John Hejduk

Designed in the 1970s and realized in 2001 in Groningen, Wall House II is a visionary meditation on space, memory, and the passage of life.
At its center stands a monumental wall — both barrier and bridge — through which every movement must pass, turning transition itself into ritual.

Bold colors and sculptural forms give the house a dreamlike presence, while its unfolding sequence of rooms echoes the rhythms of human existence — from closeness to openness, from shelter to exposure.
More than a dwelling, it is an allegory in concrete: a space that invites reflection on time, transformation, and the meaning of home.
